                    Hi all,
I have a car on hire purchase which I owe around 3400 on. The car is worth somewhere between 4200 and 4500. We need to get something bigger and have been looking at the seat ateca which we could lease for our needs at around £200 a month. The question is could I use my car which is on hire purchase as a part ex (could another manufacturer purchase it, paying off the remaining amount and then using the rest towards covering a deposit)?
If not, what are our other options? I know PCP gets a bit more complicated in terms of negotiating which is why we sway towards leasing.
Could my partner have the lease in his name (the hire purchase is just in my name) and then sell my car as a separate deal at the same time?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Yes you can use it as part exchange,0

You say your car is worth between £4200 and £4500, what are you basing these figures on?
You may want to try a quote on webuyanycar.com, this will give you a more realistic figure of your car's worth to trade.0

Where did you get the current valuation of your car from?
If it was from autotrader/gumtree then expect to be offered about half that as part-ex.''He who takes no offence at anyone either on account of their faults, or on account of his own suspicious thoughts, has knowledge of God and of things devine.''0

The valuation was from autotrader, a quick valuation on webuyanycar is 3500 (5000 before adding one accident damage to the bumper that was totally repaired, but would they know this?) .
So we would be able to use it towards a deposit for a lease? The reason I'm so confused is we are getting conflicting advice from different people. We have a test drive with seat tomorrow morning and want to know where we stand before going in.0

Warning: webuyanycar's final offer 'may' not match their valuation''He who takes no offence at anyone either on account of their faults, or on account of his own suspicious thoughts, has knowledge of God and of things devine.''0

Well if it really is only worth around £3500 to trade then you wont be getting any equity to use as a deposit given that you owe almost that amount on your HP.FrustrationFull wrote: »The valuation was from autotrader, a quick valuation on webuyanycar is 3500 (5000 before adding one accident damage to the bumper that was totally repaired, but would they know this?) .

Yes you can if you do the lease at a dealer and as it happens, I think that the bulk of the good Ateca deals are currently at SEAT dealers.0
