Where do you stay? We are in Lenzie but sadly no views. Rented in MOC for 6 months and loved having that view.

    I'm in the Blane Valley.

It's so nice up there. Though things are just too convenient where we are now, with 2 little kids, to genuinely consider moving I think. I'd love to get something on the fringes of a village with views and half an acre or more. Mountain biking straight from the doorstep, forests nearby for the kids to play in. But then the school run would be a total ballache!

I've got everything you need except the half acre! Great local PS and bus service to Balfron HS.

Sounds idyllic, a beautiful area! Do you have a link to the property you could PM me?

Its a stress test, does not mean its going to happen, you really do post some obscure and irrelevant links at times crashy.... Some of your posts are intelligent and warn people of taking on too much debt and that house prices can go down as well as up which I totally agree with, but some of your post especially when you just posts links really should be in the debate house prices forum..

I've never seen a finer description of the outer fringes of Cambuslang

You could even acquire that half acre if you don't mind digging up all the under used areas of tarmac surrounding the more upmarket high rises :D

It is the message that is being projected in the media that is important though, that is the point. The message is - Rates are going up, house prices are going down. It would be silly to avoid thinking about this while over-bidding for houses IMO, unless you enjoy negative equity that is...

  • Hi,

Couldn't help noticing the advice on this thread that 6 months to sell is not unusual in Scotland. Glasgow market is buoyant, and also in surrounding areas. I would think that if there is only one viewer back in November, you should either offer low or consider that other people know more than you do about the area. Ask a local solicitor about the Home Report and the selling agent, if any. You can't beat local knowledge in a case like this.
