Me and my partner have just found out were having a baby,Which is great but the problem is prior to this we booked a holday for 3 to orlando disney land.
Unfortunatley she will be 34 weeks pregnant at this point so we will be unable to fly.
Can anyone advise us on what to do,we booked with thomson but it is an airtours holiday.
We spoke to someone at thomsons and they advised we can only change the holiday to another package deal this season, unfortunately this will not be pratical.
What we had planned to do was goto euro disney paris for a long weekend to keep our little boy happy(as hes pretty gutted)But thomsons have advised we cannot do this as it is a different type of holiday.
So the point im trying to make now is were do we go from here we can change to another holiday but it will be £35pp per change (but cannot goto disney) or lose all our £400 deposit. We dont think our insurance covers it so are really stuck at this point.

Any help would be great.

Hi,
Normally Travel Insurance does not cover for pregnancy.
Your best option will be to amend to anything else from the Airtours programme. Visit their website and check if there is anything you fancy, even if its just a cheap week in Spain! Do note as well that Airtours' Winter 2008/2009 programme will be on sale this week so you can amend to anything up to April 2009. You could amend it to something you don't intend travelling on purely just to hold the deposit until you find a holiday you want. You can also bring the holiday forward.
Kind Regards

just had a read of the t+cs of your travel insurance....
it does state under the important sectin relation to health that:
d) Pregnancy or childbirth where You are expected to give birth within eight weeks of the start of the Trip, during the Trip or within eight weeks of the end of the Trip. You should also refer to the General exclusions applicable to all sections of the policy.
my understanding from that whole section is that if you are aware of the pregnancy at the time of booking the trip that you would not be able to make a claim under cancellation if you are to give birth in the first 8 weeks, last 8 weeks or during the trip.
However, some insurance policies to take into account that pregnancy is unforseen and if it's the case you weren't aware of it at the time of booking (and of course, didn't delibertly get pregnant
) you may be able to canx.
the best thing to do is give them a ring and check with them.
Please read the document carefully and call Us on 0870 850 4267 if You need any further help and advice. (try the saynoto0870 website for an alternative tel no).0 -
