Bought warranty on car but no policy

Hi
I'm wondering if anyone could advise me on this, I bought a used car from a dealer last week, I paid extra for a 15 month warranty.

Since I bought the car a number of things have happened, various warnings have displayed on the dash, some minor (bulbs needing replacing, plip battery spent), dfp risk of blocking, additive level low and then I've noticed a juddering when setting off or reversing. The plastic handle for the bonnet release inside the car has also snapped.

I contacted the company that the warranty is provided with and they say that there is no policy for my car or the dealer.

What would be my best course of action?

Ring the dealer you bought the car from?? When i bought my car, they threw in a 3 month warranty for free and they set it all up. So I would assume it would be on your dealer to do the same as you paid them for it.

    Not really warranty items though
  • Like I said, minor things, it's the juddering that I need sorting.

Didn't you get a piece of paper in return for the money you handed over? If not, didn't you ask?

Whether the piece of paper would be of any value is a whole new topic ...

First action is to speak to the dealer. Did you pay on a credit card?
  • On the invoice for the car it says warranty and the value of the warranty, healso gave me a little booklet.

I've spoken to the warranty company again and they're chasing it up with the dealer for me, which is pretty good considering I may or may not have warranty with them.
  • Wait until they tell you all of your 'faults' are wear and tear items and not covered; then you won't think them so 'pretty good'.
