Anyone ever had one of these emails?
Received from CS weeks after selling & posting the item.
It's dissapeared from my sold list, and the buyer is no longer a registered user. So do I need to worry?
Message below for reference, some content removed
We had to cancel bids for the buyer, XXXXXX, because they aren't registered on eBay:
*LISTING DETAILS REMOVED*
We've also made it easy to relist your item if it was removed. Although the item is no longer available in search listings, you will find it in the Sold section of My eBay. For more information, please visit:
http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/relist.html
To help you avoid this situation in the future, consider setting a Buy It Now price and requiring buyers to make an immediate payment. For more information on immediate payments, visit:
http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/pay/require-immediate-payment.html
We recommend you take the following actions if this buyer won the item:
- If you haven't received payment, don't complete the sale or send the item to the buyer.
- Don't communicate with the buyer directly.
- Verify any payments you've been notified of by logging into your PayPal account (or other online payment service).
- If the buyer requests a refund or additional payments, don't send any money without contacting eBay first.
- If you've already sent the item, try contacting the shipping carrier to find out if you can stop shipment.
In these types of situations, we may, at our sole discretion, decide whether to credit the fees for removed listings.
- We have credited all associated fees except for the final value fee for your listing(s).
If you have any concerns or questions, click "Help & Contact" at the top of most eBay pages.
We're sorry for this inconvenience, and thanks for continuing to work with us.

It's bog standard. Just ignore it, you've sent the item. I did once have a buyer continue to contact me after this point (trying to get refund) by responding to emails via their Hotmail account. I don't know though if it's still possible to hit reply to an eBay email in your email box like you used to?Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. It's happening quite often these days. There are so many hacked accounts on eBay that I even received similar message for an eBayer with over 800 feedbacks.
This is usually followed by a Paypal chargeback. You need to put in your tracking number as soon as possible (it might not be on your sold list but scroll down to cancelled items). IMO, you are lucky to have this as you will get your FVF back. If they go straight to Paypal chargeback, your FVF will not be refunded whether you win or lose.0 -
I didn't receive a refund request from the buyer, so this came out of the blue.
Just wondering if there's a risk of PayPal claims?
The item was sent standard 2nd class without tracking.0 -

No more risk than normal.
It could be the person was kicked off for not paying fees or contacting a seller about the location of an item too many times - it isn't always an indicator that the sale will go bad - in fact for me it's never indicated anything to do with the sale.0
