XP-Pen Graphics tablet for photo retouching

I have come to the conclusion that trying to do highly detailed retouching (like removing ink lines from a face) with a trackball is insane . I think I need a graphics tablet. Could I get by with one of the low end "Star" tablets XP-Pen sells or should I spring for a small XP-Pen Star05 amazon.com/dp/B01MAZ5FDL ? Or are there other, cheaper manufacturers I might consider?
