Good lord, They will want them there in one piece!!!
Sorry, I'll get me coat!! (makes a sharp exit!)0 -
This is very interesting, as I work in a school and have been looking for something to boost my meagre earnings in the school holidays (not just the long summer one) and which would still give me the occasional lie-in! Also, I would seem geographically well placed, with both the M4 and M5.
PS. The list of firms has disappeared from the 'blog. Is there a problem here? The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
Any update on this folks ?0

my dad is a trade plater.. but its a full time job not just a one off thing
with a proper company you need to have interview and everything... I can't remember the company he works for at the moment though
its a hard job and not easy money at all, he starts from any time after 4 am to get to the pick up and can only be home at around 10pm... the amount of times he has been stranded in the middle of no where 500 miles from home0 -
trade platers dont usually do it as a full time job, - work when you want to.
VERY EASY WORK - LOADSAMONEY !!!!!
just need a valid driving licence
good luck to everyone in this highly lucerative money making idea!!!!!0 -
is there any point to post #17??0

You tend to see a lot of cars being delivered on the back of a transit flat bed type vehicle. Surely this would be a better occupation as you will always have a means of getting home?0

What sort of ballpark figure do you receive for delivery??
e.g. you deliver a car from london to manchester??
Cant be too much or the delivery guys wouldnt be hitching back home.
I wouldnt mind having a go if the return was worth it.
As a small, 47 year old female, I'd not fancy it0 -

Now, if a dealer in London has a blue one and a buyer wants a red one, they go through their list and find out who has a red one. They might then phone up that dealer and say "hey - can I nick your red one?". In which case there'd then be a need to pick up the red one soonest and drive it down to where the buyer is stood.
I did do a job one day - picking up one-way hire cars from an airport. I was in Cambridge, the cars had been left at Stansted Airport. A whole minibus of us were hired, from a CB radio shout out. Turned up at the car hire place, got onto the minibus, off to Stansted (say 1 hour in total), pick up the car, get back. Say, 2.5 hours in total. Got paid £5 cash. Now, that was back in about 1990, but even then it wasn't a great deal. On the basis I wasn't doing anything else that afternoon, it was a nice trip out and a £5 in my pocket. But certainly not a "living".0 -
