I cant post a link to the article

Are there any similar apps out there that I can replace it with?

Doesn't seem like something that's needed TBH?
All you need to do is let Windows keep itself updated

Many corporates don't want Windows to automatically update in case it breaks their (generally shoddy but ludicrously expensive) custom software.

Windows keeps itself upto date, but its all the other apps that are the problem.
