Mercedes clk 230 1999 electric seat problem

Hi, i have a mercedes clk 230 convertible 1999.
If i push the drivers electric seat switch forwards, the seat goes forward.
If i push the seat switch back, the seat goes forward!
This is the same for the passenger seat.
The seats other movements are fine. Up, down, tilt.
Where do i need to be looking, whats the cause.
HELP please.
