Penguin go you :T . You are doing amazingly well.
Numpty I agree with you about the family debt thing. The first debt I paid off was my mum as I really couldn't stand owing her money. Pay day for me today and for the first time since I started my debt free journey my debt has increased. If I just added the actual bills I have for this month then I would have gone down but I have gone with the total I have online and it is considerably more. Boo hoo. :(
Hopefully back on the straight and narrow now though and diary is starting again tomorrow as that shames me into being good. I havent filled it in since 9th November and the spending is all too evident. Ho hum.
5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
    Currently CC £23,674.36 /£14,895.41/£14315.42
    Mortgage £28,214.65/ £26,254.71/ £25,746.43
    By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.
By end 2021 I want CC at £10,000.00
  • well, i think i've found somewhere cheaper (and nicer) to live...... should save me about £125 a month. (did i mention its nicer?????)

  • I've not been on site for a few days but luckily I haven't gone too bonkers with money.

I went for a drink and tea after work last night - isn't it nice sometimes to go for a Friday evening drink, it just really seems to kick start the weekend off? I was very good though and just opted for a £2.50 bar snack and half a lager.

I also went to a gig on Thursday and decided I felt really fat although I'm only a 14 but against all the young girly students also there with not an ounze of flesh on them; I felt like a hippo. I have decided to do a cereal week next week to try to drop a few pounds of weight but should save a few pounds of money on shopping too.
Second and final LBM 01/01/11 Nearly got there but fell of wagon. HAVE to do it this time
  • yeah go penguin & numpty! Hope the hangover not to bad today! Great that you found somwhere nicer & cheaper stuntman! That wil make a huge difference! Hope you get back on track soon millionaire - Christmas does stuff the budget up a bit! I have gone with the minimal savings pay as much off as possible theory so this leaves me somewhat scuppered at times like this but before I'd have put on CC without thinking rather than feeling physically sick when I hand the card over! Another quiet day at home for me but hoping to actually leave the house tomorrow! How exciting!! Hope you all have a good day!

My debt free date is 2026!!!!!!! (not including mortgage!!!!!!)

I refuse to go bankrupt. This is based on current circumstances and i know it wont take that long but its going to take some effort so I am in for the major long haul.

Please can you add me to the list?

    Hey sweetie,

my DFD was 2008 when I first used the snowball and slowly but surely it's been getting nearer and nearer.

The snowball now says March 2009 but we're going to kick the bottom out of it and we're determined to get it done by Christmas 2008.

I'm sure yours will shrink as you go along too.

    Welcome to the gang!

Just when I think things are looking up...

Washing machine has broken, it was full of water and the door wouldn't open. Managed to pry the door open, water all over kithen floor and still the drum is half full - I have no idea what's wrong with it.

Then, putting hoover round while cleaning house ready for Christmas decs, and belt snapped. Replaced belt TWICE - it kept snapping, burnt my finger on the inside of the hoover while trying to rpeair it, now have to hoover whole house using nozzle attachment thing.

Looks like the money I've been saving for the last CC will end up going on a new hoover and washing machine

How come this stuff always happens??? It makes me want to cry.

    Oh honey that's terrible. :(

We've had a bit of that on our debt journey but also we've had some unplanned good things happen as well so I'm going to hope one of those turns up for you pretty quickly to make up for this.

How's your poorly finger? I get really angry if I hurt myself trying to do something like that - it's like adding insult to injury isn't it?

    Love Jacks xxx :D
