  • Ah dear, been a satc fan I didn't want to say that. It was like all the series pushed into one lol. But it was just fun to watch if not abit long abu dhabi was well I felt abit uncomfortable when carrie kept chomping about faces been covered. Anyway it's done and not something I could sit through again. I'm hoping physio helps the problem rather than moving it somewhere else lol x

Hi all! Hope you are all well.

I'm dissapointed to hear the SATC2 reviews! :( I'm a HUGE SATC fan and have been soooooooo looking forward to it. Have talked hubby into taking me Wednesday (orange wednesdays!)

In other news - my little boy have pooped out the pebble at long last! - Relief all round! I have had a terrible cold and sinusitis but am getting better now.

We are off on our 'Sun Holiday' in a week and i am so excited! Going to Cornwall and although we won't have much spending money i have exchanged loads of Tesco clubcard vouchers for Day Out Vouchers (4x value!!!) so that we can at least have some lovely days out to places like the Blue Reef Aquarium, Seal Sanctuary and Crealy Adventure Park.
Hope we get a nice caravan - its such pot luck on these Sun holidays. We have done them every year for 6 years now and have had some amazing caravans but also some quite nasty ones.

Anyone else off on holibobs soon?

I know how you feel Tek. I seem to spend all my time watching money. But I get to a stage where I've had enough - and that's when I fall off the wagon!
This month has been a "bad one" savings wise. After re-starting my "lightbulb moment" 6 months ago, filling in a on-line spending diary and putting any spare money into my Virgin credt card account, this month has been a bit of a spend-fest. I went on holiday in Tenerife at the begining of the month, my twin nieces had birthdays and during that hot 10 days we had this month, I realised that my sandels were too worn out to wear in public, so got a couple of new pairs. As I have wide feet, I have to get them by mail order, so they weren't cheap!

I'm worried about my "active" credit card spending. For the past 2 years I've been so busy paying off the 2 credit cards that have my old debts on them, that I have been only paying minimum payment on my current card and when I had a look at it this weekend, it's now grown to £3,400
I've been able to tackle my current account spend, but now I must look at my current credit card spending.

Welcome Hayley5 - as scooby said you have done the hardest part - facing up to it is the first step in, unfortunately, a very long journey!

Well done on that first step -I hope we can all help you through the months to come.

EBAY THIS MONTH! I fell off the wagon a bit last month, got bored of running around posting parcels every second day and pandering to some frankly very rude and impatient people, all to keep my ebay feedback at 100%. Grrrr. Anyway, I looked back at my last four month of ebay and I worked out I had sold £1200 of stuff! :) Frankly I'm pretty shocked, but its all come off the cards and I haven't put it back on - honest! :A

That has given me another kick up the butt to get back into it and start ebaying again. I've sold off most of the stuff that will get me any good returns but I think i could still squeeze another £300-£500 out of it i I try. It seems like such a small dent off the debt I have but I have to keep reminding myself that its put me roughly 4 months closer to by debt free day! Yipee!!!!

That has put me in a better frame of mind :o. So, back to the ebaying....

MY brother was due to come over from America for a ew days but his flight was cancelled due to the BA strikes. I haven't seen him for five years so it will be great to see him - if he can make it over.

Anyway enough out of me, how is everyone today?? Hope everyone is well.

Hayley5 - i hope you stick with us and don't worry you WILL get there in the end as we all will. You CAN do it and one day it will all seem like a bad dream.

HPGDF - are you ok? I hope you feel better soon.....

Scooby - thank you for your encourgement

    Have a good day everyone

    Hi all:j
Haven't posted on here for a long time but I do read all the posts to keep up to date with how everyone's doing. Welcome to all newbies, it is great to get some support as whilst we are very keen in the early days, it does get boring in the long haul & that's where the danger is I find:eek:

It was great to read the post from Talisker about ebay, I have mountains of stuff here that could be ebayed, but like you feel it is a pain in the b*tt to do, all that photographing, descriptions, damfool questions, posting parcels - gah! I don't like carbooting either, but in all honesty I couldn't justify giving the stuff away when we have the debt. SO in the last 10 days I've forced myself to sell stuff, only 15 items so far but have netted around £300 already:T:T:T Now if i could only stop buying off there I have cracked it!:rotfl:

Thanks for the prompt, seeing how much you have made is helping me to see that I have to keep going - cheers:T Onwards & downwards folks - we will get there:D:j

Afternoon everyone. Hope you all had a lovely/not bad/good enough Bank Holiday weekend :D

Like sashanut I've not posted in a while but I've popped in for quickies periodically. My financial juggling a few weeks back has now started in earnest, but I forgot about a bill and a night out so have worked out I'll be overdrawn (again) this month :o:(

I'm off work this week and am using the time to finally clear out stuff I don't need/paperwork to shred. I also have stuff that I can Ebay so I'm determined to get that started this week as I've been putting it off for months.

To all the newbies - welcome :j. No matter how long we'll be here for, we all learn lessons along the way, with laughs thrown in (alcohol helps also :rotfl:).

I was going to treat myself to SATC tonight as it's 'cheap' night at my local cinema but I can't really justify it given my finances currently, so my incentive is to Ebay at least two items in June............ then rent the DVD when it's eventually released :). Ah well, at least I can see my debts decreasing month by month so the 'pain' is worthwhile.

    Bottle of wine anyone?

Afternoon all! Good to see people chatting. The debt busting/ebaying/not spending is hard - esp when those around you seem to have wads of dosh! When I started with my first LBM I felt very ashamed and stupid, not forgetting panicked and physically sick when I realised that I owed 37000, excluding mortgage. I was open with people though and when I was it was amazing how people came out of the woodwork and some found me an inspiration. My life has changed beyond measure and from being a ready meal kinda girl I now cook from scratch; I generally shop when I need something and tend to hunt charity shops for the wants which means I have to be patient and get an even bigger buzz when I find something! While its hard not to be able to have holidays etc I wouldnt want to go back to the old me...I much prefer enjoying simple pleasures and spending time with friends rather than panic shopping....
Hang in there those that are finding it hard. One day we will get there but the length of time we take is partly down to us...I still buy treats but am now far more content at home than I was and enjoy reading more...no need to apologise to me for treats - its your journey after all but didnt want people to slide backwards as we would never get there!
Minimums again for me this month...the laptop died so had to get another one after a week deliberation. Its got a 2 year warranty so fingers crossed! hugs all!

I too am one that has been putting ebaying off for months. It doesn't help that DH is moaning about taking the packages to the PO - he also moans about all the stuff I have, there's no pleasing some people:rotfl:

Anyhow, good luck PB for doing it, I have just packed 15 parcels - blech - but am £300 better off & have taken the next lot of pics to start the whole process again.

Oh, & if there's virtual wine going - can I have some please???:D
