    Debt-free and Proud!
Sorry about your back Happytogetdebtfree! Hope it feels better soon!

My little boy still hasn't pooped out the pebble!!!! Took himback to the Dr's today but they said as long as he appears ok in himself and is still pooing we just need to wait. Its very worrying, especially as i am at work for the next 3 days and can't be at home to watch him. :(

Some good news though. My boss has agreed that i can do an extra 2.5 hours a week at work, which will actually make very little difference in terms of time as i struggle to leave on time at the moment. It just means i will now be getting paid for all the extra hours i have been doing. But the great part is that it means an extra £90 a month with means i can up my CCCS payment from £150 to £240! Thats a HUGE difference! :D That will change my DFD from 2017 to 2014. :D:D:D

    Hello Everyone,

Thanks for all the welcomes. Well about me... well I have been an idiot with budgeting and debt since I graduated at 22 (I'm 31 now!!!!!!).

I got student loans, then a £10,000 loan to do a masters (which never benefited me career wise - I just wanted to stay at uni for an extra year and sound clever having an MA).

I got a lowly paid gaduate job and a graduate loan for £5000. Paying £15,000 on loans on £13K salary (esp when I went out to pub quizes, nighclubs, bought hangover breakfasts, pretty shoes etc etc) was hard so I used credit cards (which I though were free money).

The debt started mounting. I spent most of the time ignoring it, settin up minimum payments and not budgeting. I have never defaulted but also never properly budgeted (hmmm no money in bank, I know buy something on a cedit card that will make me feel better. Doh!)

I would then get a loan to consolidate, but as soon as something changed e.g. relationship breakup, redundancy I would get out the credit cards and get in tht nasty minimum payment cycle.

I finally woke up in July. Light Bulb! I have got a very tight budget but only spent twice on credit cards since July for utter emergencies.

I know have a loan still with £20K to pay and credit cards with just under £15K. Which I am despeate to pay off (after tax I come out with about £1600).

I recently found a lovely new boyfriend who is lovely and handsome and wants us to move in together (I currently rent a room, but it gets expensive with commuting and petrol prices so wont be more expensive if we choose the right flat to live in).

Apart from my debt story, I love my job, but my bosses are idiots and evil so I spend lots of my time hatchng up evil plans (only hatching, I don't do!)I love dogs and want one once I am more settled. You know how some men while driving stare at pretty girls, well I do that watching dogs.

I am often told I am mental which I think is better than being told I am normal. I have partied a lot, hence the debt and am now trying to be sensible and grown up.

    I have rambled for ages....

    Hi In Search of Me,

What's this weight loss you're doing? I could easily survive on chocolate for ever, but as boring as it sounds a permanent healthy approach to food is the only way. Which is hard when my corner shop is selling mini eggs for 27p a bag. It would be rude not to.

How long have you been tackling your debt and how are you doing with it all.

PS Yeah do I get a number???? xxxx

Nelly - I recognise your story ;). Though you must tell me where you found your lovely boyfriend! I've still to find me one of them :p.

I'm not supposed to be here - I told myself I would have an early night! One day maybe!

Scooby - he came back. Just for you. He told me he missed you :D (To any-one wondering what on earth I'm talking about, it is, off course, my pet effalump Boo, who watches and waves at us all.)

    niccatw,

The lovely boyfriend came about from the successful use of the three date rule. Before I would rarely gove a boy a chance if they approached drunk in a pub. First date would be last date if e.g. he spoke to much about his mother, admitted to sleeping in a single bed, spoke fondly about ex etc etc.

My pals and I decided to do 3 date rule, so if someone asks, go out with them and give them three dates (unless they are clearly unhinged or they remind you of your brother). Many lads need dutch courage to ask you out, and nerves get the better of them on first dates. 2nd date will show them in a more true light and third date will be the decider of if you like, fancy etc.

    Simples.

    Me too early night Pah!!!

    what is your effalump???

Am delighted with his return :grinheart
Hmm...boyfriends  I'm good at finding them but generally they seem to start malfuctioning when we live together :rotfl: My now exboyfriend has popped in 3 times in last week with wine, flowers, more wine, champagne, offers of takeaways, which is all lovely but about a year too late

I also recognise your story Nelly & welcome to the thread :)
Isom many apologies for naughty treat buying :p
