The circuit or the cooker?

I have a double electric oven, approx 4 years old. Went to use the larger of the two (hardly ever used) and it tripped the electrics. Top oven now also trips electrics. When I reset the circuit breaker there's a blue flash in the unit.
Is it more likely to be a fault on the circuit or a fault with the cooker? I don't know whether to call in an electrician or an appliance repairer.

Blue flash in what unit? Do you mean in the consumer unit or the oven? I would suspect element. Does it trip the breaker without anything turned on in the oven?0

Turn oven wall switch off , try circuit breaker

Blue flash was in the thingy with all the trip switches (consumer unit?). Just did it again and there was no blue flash this time.
Switching the cooker socket on and off doesn't trip. The clock on the cooker works, its when I try to use either oven that it trips.0 -

The correct course of action is to contact an Electrician.0
