My boss does a lot of recordings of messages, which he wants transcribed. I've tried using google docs, with the voice recorder, but I've found that if you move your mouse off the microphone icon, it stops transcribing. Is this normal? or is there a setting to change it. He doesn't want to spend money on software, but at the moment, I can only find software with trial periods or restrictions before buying. As I said, I've tried google docs, and it works quite well, but some of the conversations are quite long, and I want to be able to use the pc while it transcribes. Any help appreciated.

You don't need to leave the mouse over the microphone icon (its click on/click off), but you do need the browser to remain the active window.0
