software to do 3d architectural drawings for house extension

I am interested in drawing up a 3d layout of my proposed extension, would anyone know of a free software that I could use to get some feel of a building extension that we are planning to do. I have some knowl edge of cad software but looking for something thats easy and straigtforward!

Have a try with" Google sketch up" do a search on ....Google for it its a free download I do not know how technicall it is though?
