Fitted wardrobe advice

We need fitted wardrobes for our master bedroom, unsure whether to go with one of the big brands or try a local joiner or even look at a combination fitting such as a joiner making the shell/fitting doors & we do the inside. Looking to try and save a bit of money on an item that I know can be expensive! Advice needed pls

I suppose it depends on what sort of thing you want. I just got some sliding doors from one of the DIY sheds then did the interior myself with lots of melamine coated panels & fittings that are readily available.

fitted wardrobe world have diy/flatpacks which I have used before to good effect.

A combination of Ikea (economical) and local joiner I think. You can get a much better "fitted" result if there is someone that knows what they are doing with the odds and ends.

We're no good at DIY or flat packs so went with a local joiner who did lovely wardrobes for us at half the price the big companies wanted. His approach was great too, craftsman not salesman.

I'm looking at Ikea Pax system and have 'built' several variations using their online planner.

But it makes sense to see the options in store, as there are soooo many variations, you will easily get what you want. Plus you can add on later if you change your mind on what you actually need
