Desk top with photo card reader?

The desktop I had before my current one had the photo card reader in it. My current one has a separate reader that has to be 'plugged' in. I'm hoping to get a new desk top soon but would like one with the photo card reader in it (if that makes sense). Had a quick look online but can't find anything. Searched for desk top with photo card reader and just got the readers lol.

Do they still do them please. I'm not very techie minded:(.

Easiest option is just to use your existing one as has been mentioned, otherwise you can buy a card reader that will fit into a drive bay on most computers.

PC's with built in card readers are relatively unusual (unlike laptops for some reason), and tend to limit your choice when selecting a new machine.
Hence either using an external reader, or buying a drive bay one and getting it fitted.

Another option is some keyboards, or other desktop accessories have card readers built in.

You can have more than one card reader! :rotfl:

The OP wants an internal one, instead of using the separate one he already has.

The one @esuhl linked to IS an internal unit, though it doesn't look it at first glance.

Personally I'd go for this one as it looks a bit sturdier but I don't think there's much to chose between them

Either way you'll need to get a PC with a spare 3.5" drive bay. If it only has a spare 5.25" bay you can get an adapter such as this

And you'll also need a spare USB 2 header on the motherboard. I doubt you'll be able to find out if there's one before buying! There's three of them at the front of this photo

If you've not got a spare USB 2 header, things may get tricky!

My advice would be to buy the right PC for you regardless of any of this stuff, use the external one to be going on with, and only buy an internal adapter once you've had a go at opening the case and are comfortable doing that, and have checked you've got a spare USB header.

Also, most stuff that save to cards can connect directly to computers by USB anyway these days, the need for card readers is dropping off. Installing an internal reader seems like a lot of faff to me.
