Hi I’m just wondering if you could help me now along with all my other health conditions that I qualify for esa and pip I currently don’t receive anything for pip for the managing therapy or monitoring a health condition. Now I am on dialysis at hospital for 4 hours a week 3 days a week so 12 hours I total each week. I was talking to my dialysis nurse about my review form and she was telling me about a patient she didn’t go into specifics because of patient confidentiality but she said that they scored 6 point in daily living and they was on same amount of hours a week which is 12. Now without the nurses I wouldn’t be able to have dialysis does this count as needing assistance I’m not sure I never thought I qualified for that category but as my dialysis nurse said someone scored 6 points and was the same as me any I formation or help would be a great help thank you

Hi,
The dialysis would have to be undertaken at home to meet this activity.
It may be that the patient the nurse refers to could possibly have home dialysis the majority of the time (ie they do infrequent hospital dialysis just to check up on them/ inspect their fistula etc) or it could be they score 6 points for other activities?
if you check out this link

and download part 2
and then go to page 89-92 for details on this activity.

your welcome.
Best to ask and find out, rather than assume you don't qualify when you might have done.
Plus, you now know about the criteria, should you be in a position in the future to be able to do home dialysis
