Cheapest 37" full HD LCD TV

I am lookin into buying a full hd lcd tv, Size wise between 32 and 42 inch.

Cheapest I can find is an LG 37" for £600, anyone know if they can be bought cheaper than this.

I have seen normal 37" for sub £400, so if £600 cant be beaten I will get that one.

Cheers

Hi, have you looked on www.bargaincrazy.com ,thay had some cheap TVs.
there was a 25% off code,if you cant find it pm me and I will send it to you.
I think there is 6% cashback on one of the cash back sites aswell.
  • cheers guys super helpful as always.

jammiev, cheers for the discount code, but.....I have actually found it cheaper elsewhere, I have found the Sony for £820 inc delivery.

    Now I'm stuck though, I've got 3 choices a cheapo 37" Hannspree XV JT08-37E2 for £400

Or cheapest FULL HD, LG37LF66 for £620

And finally Sony Bravia KDL-40W2000 for £820

1 other question, How does Quidco work? Am I correct in thinking that you do not actually get a discount but earn cashback? And how do you cash this in?

When you say "full hd lcd" that could imply 2 things either any lcd tv that plays HD 720p/i - 1080 p/i or 1080p

I just bought a Samsung from Dixons 40" 720p for just under £600 with cashback and code

I'll go out on a limb and recommend one that's not 1080p but hear me out.

I have a Panasonic TH-37PX70. It's an HD-ready 37in plasma with superb black levels and detail. Very smooth motion handling and great built-in digital tuner too.

    Spec here: http://www.panasonic.co.uk/plasma-tv/th-37px60ped/index.htm

A couple of months ago What Hi-Fi Sound and Vision chose this as its supertest winner - best 37in flat-panel TV, never mind the 1080p young pretenders. It has come up trumps in the magazine's awards again this month so clearly it's standing the test of time well, considering how fast technology develops these days.

Many people reckon that you won't notice the difference between 1080i (or 720p) and 1080p on a TV of less than 50ins anyway.

The only fault the magazine's reviewers found was that the speakers weren't great. They are very low profile in terms of appearance but that seems to let the sound output down. This won't be an issue if you're using a home cinema kit of course (as I am - and it would be a sin not to pair such a lovely big screen with sound kit to match).

Dixons have the Panasonic for £619.99 as the panel only (suitable if you're going to buy a wall-mounting bracket from Amazon etc where they're much cheaper and just as good) or £699.99 with the very heavy and sturdy but nice looking pedestal stand. Eighty quid seems like a lot to pay for a stand but it weighs almost as much as the TV - good build quality so you will see where your money has gone.

Of course, there are always loads of ways of getting money off/back from Dixons through discount codes, the Egg card instant rebate and/or Quidco. You could probably get about £100 off by combining these methods.

I wish you well whatever you buy.
  • Hi there,
I have done some research before i purchased a television. From what i have learnt is that most branded television that include Sony, use components from other companies like LG and Samsung. Most of the television's front panel are made by Samsung or LG.

I would strongly recommend Panasonic Television for your LCD or Pioneer for Plasma. These are the two companies that made their own televisions. I would recommend a good television because in the end, you will be stuck with it for at least 5 years or so.

    hope this helps.

All Electronic products contain components made by competitors. Its the nature of the beast. Most products are made by sub-contractors who buy whatever are the cheapest or most available parts meeting the designers specifications.

hi, if you buy online you will have to post it back if faulty, at least with curry's you can walk back in with it. get 1080p tv if you intend using hd eg blu ray with the ps3 which outputs at 1080p!
