hi all am hoping you can help me
last October I purchased 3 wardrobes,bed,2 bedside cabinets and a chest of draws from bensons4beds total price £5600
they promised me delivery and installation b4 xmas (it comes flat-packed from Germany and their fitters/drivers assemble).
mid December they arrived assembled bed 2 wardrobes and 2 bedside cabinets were very rude and did not want to be there
they said the banister rail would have to be removed for the chest to go into the bedroom they then went back to their lorry never to be seen again.
was left with a 5 door wardrobe and the chest of draws still in their boxes..........on inspecting the bedside cabinets both were found to be ill made and faulty.
got 2 mates to carry chest of draws into bedroom it went in VERY easily with no need to remove banister
phoned customer services who said they would investigate and come back to me.
they emailed me saying the fitters said they left because of the bannister and also said the bedroom was to small for wardrobe.
they mistakenly attached the conversation with the fitters clearly showing they had forged my signature
I know I like my plonk but I aint gonna spend 5 grand on stuff that isn't going to fit
c/service say they will order 2 new cabinets and arrange for different installers to fit the rest
in january they came and installed wardrobe.....problem again 2 of the doors were faulty and they had to reorder them.
surprise surprise wardrobe fitted easily in bedroom
can you please assemble my chest of draws please? sorry guvnor its not on our worksheet and they left
last month was told new people coming to assemble chest and bring new cabinets
they only brought one cabinet which they assembled also did the chest.
last week the wardrobe doors were fitted
5 months after ordering I am still short a bedside cabinet
paid £600 deposit and 5k on interest free credit with a finance company
customer service don't seem to listen
do you think I am entitled to some sort of price reduction/compensation?
if so how much and how would I go about it?
all comments greatly appreciated

What kind of finance? What have finco said?0
-
3 years interest free credit with creation finance organised by bensons when I ordered the furniture
havnt spoken to finance co but dd payments began in january0 -
The finance co are equally responsible. Start complaining to them.0

Section 75 of the Consumer Credit act makes the finance company jointly liable for any problems that the retailer won't fix.
Contact them, and ask what they intend to do about the problems. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
hi guys
many thanks for replies
my order was completed a fortnight ago....waited 8 months in total
emailed bensons for compensation and they offered me a £50 bensons voucher
told them this was a joke and would seek advice...spent £5600 with them
any ideas?0 -

How much are you looking for? What losses have you incurred?0 -
losses are zero but when i ordered the furniture was told it would be delivered and assembled by xmas
took a further 6 months of headaches for it to be completed
have been paying the finance company since january even though lots missing
i feel a sorry and £50 voucher bang out of order0 -
Zero losses eh? Do you know what would be funny? If the company revoked the £50 gogw when you initiate small claims action and then the judge in your case awards you £0 because you can't quantify your losses.staceysdad wrote: »losses are zero but when i ordered the furniture was told it would be delivered and assembled by xmas

Ok I'll repeat my question then, what are you looking for? If you know what you want then you might just get it.0
