Hi,heres my story.
about 18 years ago i had a loan through hsbc bank after paying back some of the loan i got into financial difficulty and went through debt management .after more financial difficultly and many letters for hsbc i received the last letter from them saying they had sold my debt to another debt collection agency.
At this point i sent them a official letter asking them to produce the original loan agreement with in 12 days. They couldnt do this and informed my the case was closed. This was about 5-6 years ago...
My question is Can/Should i try and claim the PPI back or would it be better to just let it rest.
Thanks for your help and time

You have no right to that agreement on that basis. So, that made it easy for them to refuse and the DPA requires its destruction in due course anyway.
You can make a PPI complaint. However, if successful, the lender can offset the redress against the debt you failed to pay.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
