Can You Pay Barclaycard Early?

You definitely can pay early. Just log-in online or via the app and select to pay via card. As others have said, though, a zero balance reported to credit agencies won't help your credit record, and you'll be making no use of any interest-free period (I believe Barclays do 56 days on purchases as standard + any introductory offers).
I often pay bits of mine off early, but not the full amount, so that there's always a balance remaining.0 -
So what happens if the retailer doesn't post the transaction to Barclaycard for days/weeks/months/ever (as has happened with me)? It may never have happened to you but you certainly can't say it never happens (and I'm pretty sure that you'd be well aware of that).
Good point. But in my opinion you still owe the money. It might well be that the amount is never claimed from the CC and they never claim it from you, but that doesn't mean there isn't a debt. It is still owed, and in theory might one day be claimed from you.
I've sometimes seen on receipts (mostly outside of the UK) a declaration that you agree to pay the amount shown.0
