Yes merlin i think by now along with the other posts we have covered the "should have had a test drive " bit by now hey.
Didnt realise it was like being back at school on here but hey ho coming for advice and being told the same old chestnut over and over again i thought we might have moved on from that bit by now.
Obviously after the problems i did some internet work looking at my rights etc, seems i might just move on from on this forum as maybe i was asking for help in the wrong place with just getting told why didnt i do a test drive , anyway and like i say the garage are happy to help but thanks for anybody who offered "helpful" advice.

Sorry, but there's a heavy onus on the buyer to do research BEFORE sale. Consumer rights legislation is not a substitute for that.Didnt realise it was like being back at school on here but hey ho coming for advice and being told the same old chestnut over and over again i thought we might have moved on from that bit by now.0 -
Yes and the law that came in october 2015 to protect things like this and people like me tells me so too ..:T:T

People that spend £3K on an 11 year old car without thinking to give it a spin first.
I think the good advice you've had here may have gone over your head....pity!0 -

Glad you're cheered up!
What did that, the dealer telling you he would get your car "looked at" tommorrow?

<sigh> Is it half-term already? So many people who's reaction to helpful advice that doesn't 100% suit their preference is to go on the attack.
Oh, well.
FWIW, there's every chance these really are very minor issues, but good luck taking it to court if the supplier doesn't just roll over. BTW, don't forget to put the car outside your use, by physically returning it, as soon as you request the refund.0 -
Nope the fact he has agreed to swap it for another model subject to a "test drive"

Adrian , out if interest were is this helpful advice ? All i have been told is i should have had a test drive apart from the one person who actually offered some decent advice who i thanked , the rest is just should have had a test drive , thats hardly helpful advice as you put it.
Regarding your other point the dealer has agreed to swap it for another car so happy days , also its not just a case of wanting the dealer to roll over as you put it its simply being protected by the law that a car is sold right not wrong.
Im sure anyone buying a car just wants it right and ready to go , its not exactly wanting too much is it ?
Im aware now that if i wanted too i could reject the car and get a refund as the garage agreed it was faulty as the manager rang me back and said there was a fault and it shouldnt be made ready , he was also aware that i was in my right to get my money back but i agreed to give them another chance subject to a "test drive "0
