  • Doubt there are any ! send an e-mail to all agents in the area you are looking to move to, stating the size of the property req;, and confirm you will be paying by Housing Benefit, LA could ask some LLs if their prepared to accept dss

There is no such thing as a DSS property, just a DSS flea-pit.

Your best bet is to look for a desperate BTLer who has had a long void.
Bankruptcy isn't the worst that can happen to you. The worst that can happen is your forced to live the rest of your life in abject poverty trying to repay the debts.

You are best to contact your local authority.

My local authority keeps a list of private landlords who will consider housing benefit claimants(DSS hasn't existed for years).

Also try a few hostels/housing Associations they sometimes keep a list of people similar to the council.
Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.

Thank you for replying. I have tried my local council who put me there due to domestic violence, i lived in the property for nearly 4 years when in july i got attacked in my sons classroom from behind. Since then I have had someone break into my garden and cause criminal damage, 2 weeks ago again I had the front of my house vandalised and graffitted. This really scared my 5 year old son and I have had to flea as Im to scared for both our safety. That house I was living in was temporary accomadation. I have told the council I do not want to live in that borough as I fear for our lives as the attack has left me very very frightened especially as my 5 year old son was next to me as I was holding his hand.

I have reported all crimes and have crime reference no.s. Due to my son being to terrified I left the property the day the front house got and came to my brothers as he is the only family I have. He has a 1 bedroom flat but we are sleeping in the living room on his sofa for nearly 2 weeks now. I have applied to his council but they are not helping me. I went to there homeless unit as I believe Im not safe and my son is being affected terribely by this. I asked to be transfered to them but they have told me til they recieve a risk assesment from the police they cannot put me in temporary accomadation. The police on he other hand have told me they have sent it twice by fax and once by email.

my son is due to start a new school next week and I feel so down that Im in this situation. I dont get on with my brother, I feel so down as i suffer with bad depression as it is. I have tried so hard evry day and night searching the internet for properties where the landlord accepts dss but when ive rang up its gone. My hopes are fading as I dnt know what im going to do. I feel I have no support or help but im litaraly begging for help.

    what more can i do?

why are you being so rude? I wanted to explain my situation as I thought someone could give me advice. Dont reply to my post like that as there is no need for it. My son is actually petrified by the things he has witnessed so Id appreciate it if you would leave my post alone

You really want a council/ housing association house rather than a private landlord as you want the long term security rather than a 6 month AST.

I suggest contacting your local councillor, see if they can put some pressure on your housing department. Would a letter from your doctor/ health visitor help.

hiya, yes i contacted shelter who told me to apply to any borough which i did as im staying at my brothers. But this risk assesment they have asked for from the police they say they have not recieved but the police emailed me today to say they faxed it twice last week and emailed it this morning. But the housing team say they have not recieved it. I still have the tenancy as if i give it up I will make myself intentially homeless which is not the case as its due to the things that have happened. All our stuff is in there and Im scared now its close to xmas and its obvious no one living there Im worried in case someone breaks in as.

Maybe I will try womans aid as they have helped me before when I experienced domestic violence but as this is different matter i dnt know if they will help me.

I had a letter from my doctor months ago stating that I needed to be moved as my sons father was causing me problems and my health had got worse but they did nothing. As I dont live in that house no more and im in a different borough I wouldnt know who else to contact.
