Just to update the thread - six months on the service has had a huge transition, for the better.
Not up there with First Direct, but now much more straightforward to do business with, and very conscious of customer interaction including how easy it is to actually talk to someone on the phone, even when there are lengthy telephone waits. Plus the company seems to take their customer-facing interactions seriously: less than 24 hours after the interaction I had a message asking for quick (<30 seconds) feedback, and a phone-call exploring reasons for the switch just minutes after completing it.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

I saw your post and thought I'd leave a post here, to say it's business as usual for now as far as dealing with customers is concerned, although OFGEM are in the process of appointing a new supplier.
I'm not able to help with anything other than general account enquiries but if anyone needs help, I'd encourage them to email the address given in my profile as I'll be here to help. If that changes then I'll do my best to let MSE know.
