You seem to have just found the poll button as that is 4 you have started in the last day
Is it really necessary to have a poll with every thread you start, I think people will quickly get bored of your threads if that is the case
Just MHO of course0 -
No, mine was not well spent. My estate agents sold my home quickly but I cannot think of what they actually did to deserve the amount of money we paid them.0

What did you want them to do beyond that? Give you a blimmin' lollipop?0 -
Mine were so bad, they waived their fees after I complained, so I can't really answer the question.
They introduced two sets of buyers, neither of which could actually afford the property (even though I was told they had mortgages agreed in principle when I accpeted their offers). There was no monitoring from EA after the offers were accepted so I didn't find this out for weeks. And the EA herself tried to buy it for £7K less than it was worth.0 -
When we sold my parents' house (dad had died, mum gone into care home) they were excellent. Found us three genuine viewers within the first weekend, one of which made an very acceptable offer, upon which the whole thing proceeded very smoothly to a quick completion. They kept us well informed at every stage, and were always helpful if I had to contact them about anything.
I did wonder whether they might have reduced their fee a bit as the property was sold before they even produced the particulars so they didn't need to, but that wasn't their fault.
Very satisfied, will use the same firm again should the need arise.I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

this just confirms how slap happy the typical service you receive from estate agents at present.More fool to people who pay all their fees when they get a second rate service.
You have every right to contest the fees, if you believe the service was bad.Do not be afraid to stand up for yourself,I'm sure many people on these boards would help someone if they were taken for a ride.....0 -
my EA (small independant) was an absolute star - without him I'm sure I'd still be in my old house, he went the extra mile every time, and I wouldn't dream of using anyone else if I ever sell my current home.0

I've just put a property with an EA and have yet to decide, so I haven't answered the poll yet.
However I was persuaded into this firm by an on the ball valuer who was probably about right with the asking price, but have since had minor issues with his colleage, and said valuer has just moved offices.
So, first thing Monday It's phone bashing time to get it all sorted and extract the service I'm paying for, rather like a dentist extracts a wisdom tooth.Behind every great man is a good womanBeside this ordinary man is a great woman£2 savings jar - now at £3.42:rotfl:0 -
