Finance agreement recorded on a car

Hi, I have done vehicle check on a car that I would like to purchase, unfortunately it did get flagged for an finance agreement recorded on the car as well as a change of number plate. It looks as if the car (Citroen C4 Picasso) had the number plate changed as some point, which currently belongs to a completely different car (Ford Kuga), and then changed it back to its original number plate. Now, the finance agreement was recorded on the Ford Kura, and the car dealer insisted that there is nothing to worry about, and that the finance company will clear that record as the car was sold at an auction. Can I trust the dealer? Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks.

It's normal for a dealer to clear the finance and with regards to the plate that's a non issue. probably had a private plate attached at some point that is on another car now

As above. Most dealers, if not all, have the stock on their forecourt on dealership finance with companies like Black Horse because they couldn't realistically afford to buy all that stock. Availablecar.com have over 5000 cars on stock, there's no way they could buy all of those, you'd be looking at £10millions in stock.
