Have you been? Do you have any suggestions? I'm beginning to plan a 4-5 week visit during next year's summer holiday. Any ideas would be welcome. Also if your interested in coming along then contact me should you want to help plan what should be an active and interesting break.

Remember the UK summer is NZ winter so it's probably worth looking at going more November time.

Definitely do both islands. I've never been but my SIL lives there and absoluetely adores it.

I'm going in March 2008 flying Etihad business class (Pearl Zone) from Manchester. If you want to go business class, you can get a return ticket with Etihad from around £2500. Alternatively, expect to pay around £900 minimum for economy.

We are hiring a 6 berth camper van when we go and touring from Auckland down through to Queenstown.
