I spent a total of £8.68 on shopping for the week - had lots of stuff in already but needed fruit and sandwich stuff. Didn't buy any wine or chocolate so I'm really proud!

Well done on the car boot Jacks, I don't think I've ever broken the £100 barrier.

^I'm really quite jealous of your location Jacks: an hour from the seaside...even on a crisp autumn's day like today that can be really nice :)

    Cheers honey!

It is really nice to be within easy reach of both London (cos we love going to see bands) and the beach. It's great to jump in the car for an hour (45 mins if we're really keen!) and go for a walk along the beach even if it's nippy and windy.

It always makes me feel better.

Hubby loves the sea and he'd love to move closer to the coast - but as it is he drives 50 miles to work every day so we can't move any further away from his work for the time being.

    Once we're dfw though... :D

    Love Jacks xxx :D

 Well I shudder to think what all the stuff we sold cost us originally!

You can't think of it like that though can you? You just have to focus on what you've made not what it cost.

We've had the use of all of those things for all this time so anything we can get for them is a bonus I guess.

The biggest hit today was all of our old hangers.

A while back I bought a couple of hundred supposedly non-slip-space-saving hangers and put all of our old wooden plastic and padded ones in a few black sacks - they went like hot cakes today!

The next biggest success was a box full of girls magazine freebies that my daughter turned out

Plus books, table cloths, crockery, old kids toys, cds curtains, saucepans, clothes plant pots- allsorts really.

I think having kids stuff is a great lure cos where the kids go so do their parents! Plus we strung up some battery powered fairy lights and some home made bunting and streamers to attract attention.

We had a portable cd player playing so that people could try the cds out before they bought them to make sure they worked, and we all wore our brightest jolliest coats and hats and scarves.

We looked like the Brady Bunch crossed with Steps but you couldn't miss us!

We gave away a sweetie with every purchase as promised by the big glittery sign on the roof of the car!

and we smiled and said Hi to everybody who came within twenty feet...
    We were mobbed!

    Love Jacks xxx :D

  • Well, I don't think I'll be out anywhere now, so I can safely declare today as an NSD.

    Hello everybody

Had an NSD today but spent ££35 in Tesco yesterday which sets me up for a least 2 NSD's during the week.

Went for a walk in the woods with OH which was lovely. Has anyone noticed how vibrant the colours of the leaves are this year? Apparently has something to do with the wet summer we had so I read. Seemed so tranquil and calming and so much more worthwhile than flogging myself around the local shopping mall!!!!

Contemplated my future moves to get out of the job I'm in now so feel happier that plan is on track to do that. Am going to have alovely soak in the bath later.

Seems simple things like this are giving me so much pleasure at the moment....
