Dyer & Crowe - small firm but specialise in conveyancing, medium priced. Approachable and helpful.

Birketts - solicitors have a small caseload so the service is more personal but expensive.

Nigel Broadhead Mynard - conveyancing specialists, advertise online, transaction mainly email/online but solicitors have a high caseload so service is not very personal, but cheap as chips.

New Homes Law - conveyancing firm mainly for new build transactions.

    Obviously there are many more.....

On my first owned outright property in 1995,I did most of my own conveyancing work.Went to the library, read up,went to the local Council, got all the search forms, filled everything in and paid the then small sums.
I then did a reality check(on myself),my property was spitting from a larger estate that covered 87 acres,so I thought,I need all my hard work checking over in case I had missed anything, which I hadn`t.I was very lucky to find a solicitor who was willing to do his small bit for half the price he would have charged had he done the works.
    I saved a couple hundred quid,which was ok back then.Property was 35.5k.
I expect it`s not cheap nowadays,so would do the same on my next property,if not more.
I also refused some of the rights-of-ways and demands that were outlined on the proposed Epitome of Title, that the seller and their agent had tried to pull on me.Solicitor not involved with that.
I`m not Uni educated, anyone can do their own conveyancing.I bet it`s so much easier now, what with the Internet there to help.
Ascertaining who owns what hedge, fence, boundary, wall etc is very important.I`ve known many people who were fobbed off by the seller/agents over these, only to come up with issues(neighbours from hell variety)
