New Car Focus 2008-11 Quashqai 2006-2013
Hi just wondered if anyone can help, im looking to upgrade my car currently have ford focus 1.6 2002 has done me well could prob get one more year out of it but getting more expensive now, done 180000 miles.
I do a lot of driving around London and this engine size was the best option at the time.
I may just get another newer focus as they are good, but you see a lot of small suvs in London now and wondered what peoples thoughts are on these. Ive had a lot of problems with suspension due to all the road humps you get nowadays and wondered if thats why people get them and are they any good?
The Nissan qashqai seems OK at a 1.6 . My budget is £2000-£5000 havent really decided yet.
The focus 2008 also looks very good and from reviews seems they just sorted the problems with the 2004. My Focus 2002 has been amazing does the 2008 follow suit.
Thanks in advance

I had a 2009 (mk2.5) Focus 1.6. It did the job and was reliable enough, but I certainly wouldn't describe it as amazing. It was just....kinda boring really.0

We had a 2008 focus MK2 facelift and I wasn't impressed with it, previously had a 2006 pre-facelift MK2 which was faultless and seemed better put together. The 2008 had more rattles than Mothercare!
The qashqai is a bit bland, not that the ford focus is exactly inspiring! The mother-in-law has a newer one and I've driven it a few times. Certainly seems ok in terms of reliability and build quality. You can have results or excuses, but not both.Challenge - be 14 Stone BY XMAS!

The qashqai is another Renault with a Nissan badge, the couple of people I know who bought one have had recurring suspension squeaks and knocks, mostly done under warranty, but seem to have got rid now, in favour of perceived "better" brands, VW & an older Saab in this case.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
