  • Great idea there mrcow. I'm wondering if anyone has experience of letting 2 kids cook together. My lads are 10 and 12 and I think they both need to learn to cook, but is it better to let them do it separately or together ?(bearing in mind I hate people messing about in my kitchen:D ).
  • Mine take it in turns to cook with their father on Sun evenings over the winter. We have tried together - but it's not worth the hassle.

    Hi thriftlady,

I feel the same way about my kitchen as you do...it's my domain! On the other hand they have to learn and I have had to learn to let go.

I'd go for cooking separately. I find it difficult enough to 'create' in the kitchen myself with others under my feet, so I don't think it would be easy for inexperienced siblings to cook together.

Do encourage them though.....all three of mine love to make food and the results are getting better and better. It will be good for them when the time comes to leave home to have a few basics under their belts.
