This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences.
Parking Eye, Smart and a smaller company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They nearly always lose) and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P.
The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind most of these companies may well be put out of business by Christmas. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

I would be interested to know what data dvla released. IMO all the PPC is entitled to is:
Name
Address
of Reg Keeper on date of parking event.
Extra data like, make, colour, model, engine size, revenue weight should not be released.0 -
When I asked DVLA the same they responded:
Thank you for your e-mail requesting confirmation on a general question.
Regarding your general question I can confirm the following:
I can confirm it is only the keeper’s name and address details supplied covering the exact date of the offence no other personal information is supplied.
Regarding the vehicle details the, Registration mark, make/model and colour details would be printed on the reply nothing stating the date of first registration to the keeper in question is released.0 -
"offence"?
My letter from dvla said more than keeper details for a private pcn.0 -
My request was in August 2015.
Maybe contact the DVLA and ask if the system has been changed, when and under what circumstances they now appear to give extra information to the PPC's.0 -
As far as I can recall I wouldn't of given them any details, as I didnt speak to them about the ticket. So if they sold my details on ive got ground for data breech?!
It was Ntc Norwich traffic control?? Have you come across them before?
Have you come back and seen this thread which shows the Order and WS to submit with the N244 and £255 fee to get this set aside (and hopefully, that fee refunded by MIL)?
