Worth complaining?

Hi All, hopefully someone can advise me...
I took out a mortgage back in 2006 with GE Money. I was told I needed to take out Menu Protection Plan from Bright Grey which was income cover for sickness and Flexible Protection Plan from Liverpool Victoria, which covered Combined Life and Critical Illness Protection. I’m also in employment that offers full sick pay for 6 months and the half pay after. Do I have a case for a complaint in the sense I don’t believe these products were required, at the very least not both. I still have all the paperwork if that’s of any help.
Thanks in advance
Sami

Why do you think they were not required?
it is very common for mortgage brokers to have a model that requires the purchase of insurance to allow them to offer free mortgage advice. The only requirement in that case, is that the insurance sold is suitable. As none of the ones you mention are PPI and dont appear to overlap with employer benefits and are the ones you would expect to see on a mortgage case, it doesnt appear to be an issue.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
