PIP questions

I applied for PIP back in July last year. I couldn't do a F2F assessment, my GP said it would be too much for me so I was accepted for a paper based assessment. On Monday a nurse from Capita rung me, she was so lovely and really did sympathise with my situation. She said they'd had further info from my GP and it gave them a lot to work with and it was very helpful. She read back to me what she was putting in my report and said her professional opinion was I deserved some support as I've been ill almost 3 years and not claimed anything, just coped by myself. She apologised for calling mem and told me if at any point it was too much for me we could end the call, she was so understanding. She just wanted to ask a few questions that the GP couldn't answer in their report. She was so nice and I got quite emotional on the phone. She said she would send the report to the DWP by Friday but yesterday morning the DWP text me to say they had my assessment back and would write to me with a decision in the next few weeks.

I am now so nervous it got back to them so quickly. Is it likely I will hear pretty soon? It has been such a long process I am nervous about this last part I am on now.

Also someone told me that it's likely I will receive back pay from when I applied, is this correct? I didn't know this.

I am not counting my chickens, I may still get rejected but my husband said from how sympathetic and shocked the nurse was about how much my ill health effects me he thinks I will get something but I am not getting my hopes up. A friend of mine said she didn't think I'd get it when I first applied, she said you have to be very ill to get PIP, and even then it's hard to get it, which my other friends and family said was wrong of her as I am very ill. I have only left the house once this year and struggle to even walk downstairs most days, but it really made me lose hope of getting PIP from the very beginning.

Thank you
Lib

Decision times vary and no one can tell you how long it will take. Even though you didn't have a face 2 face assessment there will still be a report for you to see. Ring DWP and ask them to send you a copy of the assessment report. It's rare for them to go against that report, so you'll have a good idea what the decision will be by that.

I'm not sure why you posted very similar questions twice. If you weren't transfering from DLA then your money will be backdated to the day you applied, if your successful with an award.

    Good luck.

Thank you. Yes the assessor did tell me to request the report if I wanted to.

I didn't post this twice, I have no idea why there is half a post and then this one as I only posted this post and have reported the other.
