DELAYED PAYMENT on entry charge! PPS
Xstyle
Hi all,
A Notice To Keeper (NTK) was received from PPS, about a delayed payment to entry, so have charged £60, if paid by today, or it goes up to £100.
(today is last day of 14 days). Parked on 13th Feb, paid by Ringo app, it says from 07:34 to 15:48, in Reading.
It was paid at 08:41, for the whole duration and so should surely be enough and appropriate?
Should an appeal made or pay it as its the last day? Shouldn't have to though!
Many thanks,
Xstyle

You appeal, of course. Why would you pay?
Surely you can find out when you paid. Doesn't the RingGo app (or the web site) tell you that? What are PPS actually alleging, i.e. the precise details on the NtK? What are the Ts&Cs on the car park (e.g. in an NCP car park I use, you can pay at any time during your stay)?0 -

Was this at a railway station?
This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences.
Parking Eye, Smart and a smaller company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They nearly always lose) and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P.
The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind most of these companies may well be put out of business by Christmas. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Thanks Deep.
This was a private car park, next to the railway official car park.
Used to be a car dealership and they turned it into a car park.
So have another week to appeal, to the contact info PPS sent in the NTK.0 -
Everyone is politely asked to read up on this in the Newbies FAQ thread near the top of the forum before starting a new thread
Go there now to learn about the game you are now caught up in.
Appeals to IPC companies are futile, but send in the template appeal you will see in the FAQ just to show you didn't simply ignore the matter
Throughout here you are advised never to reveal who was driving
You need to edit your post to remove details of who was driving0 -

Well standard template appeal for now
Do the signs state when payment must be made by? From memory (I know the old coopers site) its a single payment possible for "all day", so as long as sufficient time was paid for to cover the whole period, then unless the signs stated you must make payment within x time theres no breach, and even if there were suchg signs, there is no commercial justification - payment was made so no damage has been caused, so Beavis would SUPPOTR that this is a penalty which cannot be recovered.0
