:doh: :doh: Hi all . Was thinking of changing current accounts from smile to A & L but I know it can cause problems . What in your opinions is the beat time to change ie - beginning of the month or end - before all ddebits or after they are taken all comments welcome TIA.

I opened my A&L account in Feb,and this was the first month everything was completed.Sponsored by Tesco Clubcard Points !!0

Personally, I would just open the new account and switch everything over myself. Seen too many problems to fully trust the process to work out well.
But if you want it to be done by the bank, I would arrange for it to happen immediately after your direct debits etc have been paid so that there is a maximum amount of time left before the next lot is due out.

I agree,in hindsight,i would have changed everything over myself,in fact i rang them all anyway to make sure everything had gone through.It just looks like a lot of work with 15 DD's,but some can be done online,others take a 2 minute phone call but others will insist on sending out new forms.
It is also an oppertunity to arrange to have them all debited on the same day,which is a lot easier to keep track of.Sponsored by Tesco Clubcard Points !!0
