What it means is British Standards are involved with the quality and accreditation of the product
What it actually means is, a bod is timed on how long it takes him(her) to defeat the lock. They have everything you could conceivably need to do this and can "take a break" (the clock is stopped) to reconsider their plan of attack. They will defeat the lock, the accreditation depends on the actual time taken.

That is a potential game changer, if all these locks are based around a difference of a few seconds or minutes then i wonder if i should bother.

Seriously OP, unless there is a good reason for paying somebody to do this, if you decide to change again you ought to at least think about trying to DIY it. Depends on your own ability of course, but it really is an easy job and there are plenty of YouTube "How -tos"

I recently got my 3 cylinder locks upgraded to anti snap/bump/pick etc.
Unfortunately i think i have been conned because i asked for 3 stars kitemarked top of the range and i got this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01BWUDV52/ref=sspa_dk_detail_0?psc=1

I believe these would have been an 'upgrade'.

A few minutes could make all the difference as a burglar would probably give up (or have to resort to a noisier method of entry).

Also whilst not unbreakable to a good lock picker the better cyclinders may well foil the less sophisticated opportunist thief whose skills don’t go any further than being able to rip off a handle and snap the cylinder (which can be done in seconds).

If you asked for three star BS security locks and he hasn't provided them, then yes you have a right to a replacement or refund.
Yes those locks you have linked look like crap

Three ABS locks would have cost £120 (ebay)? or more and that's without fitting charges so what did you expect for £7,99?

"Schlosser Technik Ultimate2" are they made in Germany? Probably not . .
The OP didn't ask for £7.99 locks, you should re-read the OP's posts.
The link was to show what the locksmith has fitted, not what he/she asked for

I didn't say he asked for £7.99 locks, I just followed the link. The fact they are available at £7.99 was brought up by another poster before I'd even seen the link (and the price) and I did read the op, BTW
