Second attempt successfull

I originally contacted my bank in 2010 regarding PPI using the online form. Within a few weeks they wrote back and informed me that they had no record of any loans with PPI that i had with them. I let this slip as I figured I must have been mistaken. In the last year i again tried using one of the online companies that specialise in PPI and they have been successful in a claim worth over £10,000.
As i have already tried and was denied by the bank having given the bank the same information I then gave the online company, my question is this.
Can i now claim the 25% from the bank that i have to pay the online company as the claim has now been successful and if the bank had been thorough in it's own investigation then I would not be £2500 out of pocket.
Thanks

    No.

It was your own choice to employ a Claims Management Company. The fact is that you would have been successful with your second complaint if you had simply complained alone as you did in the past. You'll just have to content yourself with the extra eight years of interest which the Bank will be paying you because they didn't refund back in 2010.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, Claims Companies do nothing you cannot do alone and for free.

    Sorry.

No. The complaints process is free of charge to use. If you decide to pay someone to use that free-of charge process, then you suffer the costs.

A number of banks have been getting old data out of their archives that was not previously available and placing it on to their systems. Barclays, for example, has been going back over a long time doing this. So, that is often the reason data that was not present before is now available.
