Extending adjoining porch

Hi, looking for a bit of advice on extending my enclosed porch.
It is joined onto the neighbours porch (both the same size). Ours is in need of replacing, and ideally I’d like to get a bigger one put in (current one is less than 1m deep and due to the lay out of doors etc the space doesn’t benefit the house at all).
My main concern is if it would look odd having one porch that sticks out more than its adjoining one?
It’s a separate roof, so I don’t think it would have much affect on next doors property apart from neighbour having a wall sticking out about half a meter next to her front door.
Next doors is in good condition so I doubt she would want to replace hers also and go halves on the cost (I mention this as have had it suggested to me).
Am I overthinking it?
We are the only 2 houses on the street with adjoining porches. All others have either separate porches, or none, so I can’t look at them for reference.
