    Where does this habit come from of starting a sentence with so?

    It's the young generation, they speak like it too, its very annoying.

    Needing to borrow £17.50 is a bit worrying, especially at your age!!

    OP never mentioned it was a loan, just money into their account.

    Whenever I lent any of my kids any money, I always put 'Dad's Bank' as the reference.

    As a result, I have had to buy a banker's licence which cost £10 million quid, and I have to keep twenty squillion pounds as a reserve in my cellar!

    when my step daughter borrows money the reference is pain in the !!!!
