New ESA Claim

I have searched this forum for ages but I am struggling to find the correct infomation. Me and my partner are looking to put a claim in for ESA. We are only eligible for income based so we would have to put a claim in together. Would we both have to attend the health assessment or is it the only the main person on the claim?

If ESA is still allowed in your area rather than UC, then only the claimant gets the medical.
I take it no one has DLA or PIP paid already?0 -
Thanks for you're reply. We don't have access to UC yet. If I fail the assessment, could my partner then make a different claim for the both of us? Also would HB be better in my name (claimant of ESA) or my partner's?0

If you end up failing the ESA assessment and being found fit for work, your partner would only be able to claim ESA if they were also medically unfit for work. Is that the situation?0

We are both unfit for work.0
