Make up or beauty product must haves

Hi all :D

So I’m a self confessed beauty product addict ...I love spending my money on make up, fake tan, hair extensions, lash extensions etc etc but I’m looking to cut down or find ‘just as good’ alternatives at cheaper prices and was wondering what your beauty product must have is?

Mine is st tropez fake tan spray and fake bake liquid - I’ve tried cheaper brands but they just don’t seem as good or long lasting unfortunately :( anyone got any recommendations for fake tan at reasonable prices?

Also, make up wise I have recently discovered a new range of make up called ‘makeup revolution’ which is getting rave reviews and is stocked in Superdrug at very reasonable prices, have bought a couple of items and so far so good ....oh and I believe primarks make up range is supposed to be pretty decent too...

My hair & lashes are prob one of my biggest expenses tho - really need to remove the extensions I think :(

Yes I love benefit products too, their highlighter is amazing !! Not cheap tho :o

I’m newly converted to primers , can’t put make up on now without primer first , wondering if people think any primer will do though? I’ve got a soap & glory one which I save for best and a cheap Asda one for everyday use . I do love the soap & glory one, their products are fab too...really need to find some fab low price range products lol

Ah yes foundations I have different ones for day and night my fave is a Revlon brand tho so not too expensive. I’d love to try the Armani foundation as I’ve heard so much good stuff about it but can’t bring myself to pay that much for it ...it’s eye waterinly expensive

I like Primark's High Impact Ultra Volume mascara (silver tube) which I find as good as any other and costs £3, although it took about a week for me to break it in. I've purchased the Rimmel Stay Matte powder for many years and recently been loving the NYX eyeliners.

I also like Body Shop Ginger shampoo, a bit dearer than other anti-dandruff brands, but doesn't seem as drying and other ones turn my hair into a thatched roof.

The Ordinary is a new(ish) range by Deciem.
    Look them up.
I have all their primers. The Ordinary have two cheap as chips ones, high spreadability & high adhesive. I love them both. Hylamide (also by Deciem) do a blur one, but it costs more.

They do foundations too, I bought my daughter the full coverage one, it seems really nice, amazing for the price. They also do a serum foundation. I think that would definitely be worth a try, one of my favourite foundations is Bsreminerals Bareskin & that’s a serum foundation.

Mine was Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser...as it prevented me from getting spots. A few months ago I started using the body shop tea tree clearing wash and cleanser (£8 for the two delivered and they are massive bottles) can't rave about it enough. Anytime a spot threatens to appear I use the wash and toner and it's gone the next day!
I used to only used estee lauder double wear and have been using boots no7 lately and it's saved me a fortune!

Have you tried the aldi hot cloth cleanser?
It really is similar to Liz Earle’s.

Definitely worth asking them for a sample so you can try it for a few days and see if you really like it.

    Love Benefits new one!
Primark eyeshadows are quite decent for the price but nothing beats Urban Decay
    They are awesome!
I love Double Wear Water by Estee Lauder and I love Kiehls and Origins Moisturisers.
Bare Minerals Gen nude Lip Glosses are fab and I love Smashbox Lipsticks.

Foundation is my biggest expense and my must have. Lipstick too. I like to wear mascara but my eyelashes are quite long anyway and with mascara my eyelashes touch my reading glasses when i wear them.
  • I also use fewer beauty products than before but I do use lipstick more than other products
