Lloyds Plevin Delay

Hi All,

Looking for some advice. I made a PPI claim against Lloyd's for a personal loan that I had from 2009-2013. I made the claim in 2017 primarily based the Plevin ruling and made it clear that was why. The claim was rejected when I queried it, they said the Plevin part of the claim would take longer and was still pending and I would have a decision by December 2017. Come January 2018 I chased this and was told to wait until end of March 2018. I have just received another letter stating a decision will be made in 6 months.

I feel like they are giving me the run around constantly pushing the date back. Do I have any rights regarding forcing them to deal with this more quickly?

Cheers

TJ

    Plevin only applies to rejected complaints. So, you had to go through the complaints process first. Once that has been completed and you were were rejected, it then moves over to the Plevin team and there it will sit in a pile waiting its turn.

    They are not giving you the runaround. They have a deluge of cases coming in. They were already backlogged with cases on hold for the last 18 months before you even started yours.

    You have no rights to make them do it quicker. And logically, why should they deal with yours before they deal with someone that has been waiting a year or more.

    I'm surprised you could even have PPI at that time?
    By 2009, all the major lenders had ceased offering PPI.

    Why exactly was your complaint rejected?

    EDIT;
    Lloyds actually stopped selling PPI in July 2010, so I'm going to assume the PPI sold in 2009 would not have been single premium and the documentation would have very thoroughly covered the issue of it being entirely optional. Lloyds would also have been careful to check the PPI's suitability.

    As such, the OP should consider himself fortunate if he obtains a Plevin refund, since it's very unlikely his PPI would have been mis-sold so late in the era of PPI.
