A few years ago I had a new boiler and the Danfoss TP7000m stat hard wired to the boiler.
Over the next three years the stat display dimmed to nothing so for the moment I have replaced it with a 99p light switch.
However on removing the stat there are only two wires connected and I assume these must be a live and switched live.
Should the unit have been charging from just those wires? I would have thought a live, neutral and switched live would have been required?

It should have two sets of terminals.
On the left is earth, permanent live and neutral
On the right are the switched inputs/outputs
So I assume the left section is not wired up on yours?Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0 -
Thanks - Mine looks exactly like your picture but the left terminal block is missing completely although you can see where it should be mounted on the backing plate.
The right hand section including the wording on the label are identical to your picture.

Have you got the battery version?0

No its definitely the mains. Only the Com and Heat On terminals were wired.
Even if the left hand terminal block was there it would not connect to anything on the unit itself as that space is taken up by the rechargeable battery packs.
Here is a picture of both parts.

You obviously have the 7400 battery version not the 7400M mains version!
The white battery carrier is obvious in your second picture.
They are not rechargeable just standard Alkaline AA, hence why your display died.0 -
From the user guideBatteries will last in excess of two years. Low battery indicator will flash on the LCD display. The user has 15 days in which to replace the batteries with high quality alkaline cells (Fig.19).0

Yeah, that looks like a space for two AA batteriesChanging the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0

Yes I feel a right idiot when all I needed to do was replace the batteries from the front!
Still I have hopefully given you all a laugh!0
