the black bit has a leak at the bottom, not massively but enough to need fixing. I can twist the thing round and round but doesn't seem to tighten.
Is there an easy way to fix this without taking it off which i think would require disconnecting all the other parts and then reattaching...I am not so handy so was wondering if there is an easier fix or does the black thing need replacing?

The black bit is a push fit connector. Its leaking because the pipe feeding into it is under strain, you don't have a natural angle between your trap and the existing hole in the wall. You won't easily get a watertight seal like this, pressure is on the joint and the water will keep finding a way through. So really you have 2 alternatives.
If the trap and pipes are hidden you can add 3 elbows and turn the trap 90 degrees. Each elbow will allow movement in both height and left to right, and you get a straight natural angle alignment and no weeping from the joints. Use street elbows, also called conversion elbows, it will be neater and save space. I can't find an image of this, but imagine just connecting together three of the conversion elbows, so you come back facing 90 deg on to where you were before. By tilting any of them you vary the height, by pushing them in tighter, or out more, you can vary the distance. You are aiming to make a nice straight joint not under any lateral force.
Alternatively widen out the hole through the wall until you get a straight line, the waste not under force and it will work without leaking. If its just a height issue and it lines up left to right you might be able to use a trap extender, almost certainly 32mm waste all of it.
