Yes the landlord should fix the faults. You have been incredably patient waiting 7 months. When did you inform him in writing of the faults?

Things like "electricity box is not boxed in" I assume you mean the consumer unit. That is just the way it is. No requirement to box it in. Yes they can look ugly but you must have seen it like that before you decide to rent the place, so don't expect things like that to be changed. Only genuine faults.

Mould and damp. You ARE using the bathroom fan arent you? If not you should be. What is the EPC of the property,. if it is poor, which usually means not much insulation, then again you took it on knowing that.

Yes I have and I have all e-mails saved. I also have inventory and the property was passed on to property agent 1 month into tenency she also reported all this on property inspection and took photos etc and put it in red ie needs urgent attention. it stated that I kept the property in clean condition and the garden tidy.

I moved because on first sight it was freshly painted summer and looked good as soon as I moved in the problems began! We had been in our previous house for 13 years and had a excellent landlord only moved due to having older teenage boys and felt they needed there own bedrooms.

Yes I know box and wires were exposed but I was told this would be done the week after we moved in I have e-mail with this stated. I did not receive an epc it has been over 13 years since I had last signed a new contract I didn't realise all these things were needed! And I had such a great relationship with my last landlord I have never had any renting problems!

It's a trite comment I'm afraid but just leave - nobody is keeping you there.

Obviously we don't know exactly where you are renting but http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-to-rent/property-52485210.html is about your budget and looks fine with some dodgy decoration.

You could either stay it out and follow Shelter's advice about what to do if your landlord won't repair the property....or you could move. I'd do the latter. This landlord clearly doesn't care much about the quality of his/her property. How long are you signed up to? Normally an AST is 6 months in which case you could now give a months' notice. If it's more, it might be worth going down the route of the Shelter advice referred to above - but this is trickier.
