Bought a new inbuilt dishwasher as a direct replacement for a dead one. Below is something I've not seen before. In the non removable water fill hose there's this little box, seems sealed with no cable inlet but has an IP67 rating and the electric lightening shock symbol. Mains lead is captive and plugged so simple swap but unsure about this?????

Yes thanks, I received a reply from a plumber mate. Seems it's supposed to shut off the hose at the end where the box is in the event of a leaking hose. The warning is because AEG use a system that means mains power is present in that box but fed up to there between the inner and outer section of what is actually a hose within a hose.

The real issue was that a call to AEG's technical helpline proved a dam joke. "We can't talk to you unless the appliance was fitted by an approved supplier", hence having to ask around.
