Reclaim Ppi but no paperwork

Hi
I had lots of loans, credit cards and insurance, remortgages from 1987 to 2002. But no paperwork. I m not sure if the single premium was front loaded to the loans! Have requested subject request info from form banks but they may only go back six years. And not sure if from the bank statement how I can just write to several loan, credit cards provider if I had Ppi ! They might just say no! I also had shortfall on endowment policies which I had taken out in 1987, 1988, and 1989, the endowment ran for 25 years and I accepted the shortfalls many years ago and cashed the policies but is there any chance of claiming some money now? Would I be successful! Any idea the easiest way to try reclaim on Ppi on all loans credit cards insurance?
Would be grateful for any advice. Ta
