Ooh, Sky and Virgin are playing nicely again .... I nearly signed up to O2 broadband last week, shan't bother now, I'll go with Virgin for tv as well, saving a tenner a month. So thats my job after 13th November.

Right, done my list for today:
    - buy diary for next year.
    - pick up present day diary from post office, languishing there since my sister sent it on Monday :o
    - buy new doorbell, carbon monoxide detector.
    - buy jewel cases for CDs and DVDs, poundland
    - household shopping, boring - all except the pesto, which is never boring!

Thats my "out of the house" list - more to do once I get back, like checking for death rays coming from the boiler....

  • I loved the Janet and John books, i learned to read off them. Those Kipper books just don't do it for me now.

I agree Pesto is never boring.

    Janet & John were fantastic.

Hope you're having a good day Karma, fingers crossed that the carbon monoxide detector doesn't show up anything, but best to be on the safe side.

Hi! I'm back - have given Tesco Value Mozzarella a go after you mentioned it, squizz, any way in particular you recommend it?

Janet and John ... I just remember being so bored in school because I'd read all the books - then I'd get told off for reading my own. I was a bit, shall we say, single minded, even then? :rotfl:

Have got the new diary, the old diary, the carbon monoxide detectors (I bought these funny little things that look like plasters, cos I can use them *now* - my sister had them, I happened to see them on Sunday, and she and her husband research this stuff exhaustively, so I *think* I trust them.

Have also got the jewel cases - but at Tesco! The narrow ones, 25 for £3.47 - since I buy recordable DVDs on a spindle, its a legit expense. I've tried using those envelope things, but I'm a little bit sloppy, I'd rather have a hard case.

Am pleased! And have had my 2nd cup of coffee, so all is well with the world, except that its already getting dark.

I'm off now to catch up on threads.

PS - I bought wool for the baby's cardigan! Its *meant* for babies, so fairly expensive - 200g for £5.50 or so, but since I don't know a lot about catering for modern babies' skins, I thought better safe than sorry.

MMmm mozzarella, I'd go for salad with tomatoes and maybe olives, with some lemon juice and olive oil. Or on top of a nice potato bake (or pasta, though I know you try to avoid wheat - have you tried the pasta maker yet by the way?)

Sounds like a successful day! But gosh yes, the early darkness  Feel quite 'cosy' this afternoon though, been on the sofa, knitting and watching a Muppets film :rotfl:

Olives!!!! Yes!!!! I have a £10 Waitrose voucher to use, and I'm passing by one today, I can have free olives! Already have tomatoes, and some nice olive oil. I could lightly fry some tatties. Omigod, that sounds wonderful, thanks squirrel!

Ahem. Confession time. I haven't tried the pasta maker. I've been doing my accounts or flogging myself with mystery shopping! I may not get to use it till next weekend, actually. EDIT: just looked at my diary for next week, and actually its pretty empty. Definitely going to be trading (otherwise I won't be able to claim that £75 from tradefair), so a little earlier than planned, here's my plan for next week:

    - trading, at least two trades, so that I can claim the tradefair money.
    - then KEEP TRADING.
    - firm up date to see a friend on Wednesday or Thursday.
    - finish English AND French accounts - they're all over the table, and that gives a bad atmosphere anyway.
    - use the pasta maker!!!!

    Thats it!

  • Not a lot then? I think you should set the mood. So make some pasta, use the olives and cheese add a bottle of French plonk and do the accounts...easy:D

If Karma is using the pasta maker surely some Italian plonk would be better?:D
